Warm welcome. Parked next to a long drop loo, very clean. List of interest from children around the area, but they went when it got dark and they were not pestering us. It’s for a donation and we have 30,000 TSh for 3 of us. Had access to water too.

A beautiful spot with excellent overlanding facilities as described. We travelled up to the camp site in torrential rain (March) and it was pretty hairy. The road turned to river in a matter of minutes and we were quite worried about the road collapsing. We are in 4x4 Hilux. Would suggest avoiding in heavy rain. Food was absolutely delicious (vegan ‘full English’ was definitely best breakfast I’ve had in Africa so far! But food is very expensive (although we think ‘worth it’) so be prepared to splash out if you’re not self catering.

Fantastic place for a stay. You can camp with you camper/tent as well. Beautiful common area, small kitchen and nice, clean bathrooms and showers. Mario is super helpful and can offer mountain guidance and tons of info in addition to his warm hospitality.

Quiet place, lots of wind, no dogs, no cell reception. Agree level spots are on grass.

We pulled in here one afternoon to escape the roads and the guy let us camp on the front lawn below reception next to a little shelter with stunning views of the Zambezi. we used the pool which was bliss, hot showers by the pool and toilets in the restaurant. This was probably our best night so far in Africa but the key was to camp on the front lawn. can't comment on the other camping spot but you could ask to camp on the lawn. we paid 400Mts each.

Trailhead of the 'Cajon de Arenales', Parking lot next to a bridge over a stream. To get there just register at the Carabineros office (they let you only pass if you arrive with daylight) and follow the little bumpy road for 2 km. The parking lot is next to the road but there pass like 2 cars per day.

In the 'Cajon de Arenales' are more than 350 climbing routes, some of them of excellent quality.

Definitely get your visa here. It's not a full embassy, but they issue visas within 24 hours and it's 15,000 CFA for one month, 19,000 for 2-3 months. No added costs for having a car or anything. Only need to fill out one form, need 1 passport picture and he keeps your passport for the 24 hours. Staff are super nice and helpful.

Very good night here, quiet and no one bothered us. Car park started to fill up around 9am though so better to leave not too late to leave people space to park. We have a 37ft.

Great place to stay! Really cold at night and we were unlucky to have a storm at night. But made some amazing star pictures and it was really easy to be the first in the park in the morning.
Please be aware that local guys like to bring a girl up here for a few hours, but they all leave at night

A great place to stay. It's owned and run by a lovely Dutch/El Salvadorean family who were very welcoming. They're still building their parking area but our Sprinter fit easily along with another small camper. Great facilities - clean swimming pool with a small kids pool too, well-equipped kitchen area, clean bathroom with shower, and lots of hammocks. We paid $5 per adult per night and this included parking and access to pool and all facilities. A few nice looking rooms too if you want a 'proper' bed. There's a peaceful beach very close by. Perfect for families or anyone looking for a peaceful beach stay. Our dog was welcome but I checked in advance. If you're visiting in the next few months contact them in advance as parking is limited until they complete the work around the hostel.

Great spot! We were dealing with a really friendly guy named Jorge, but I guess it’s the same place. Located in mountainous field with “natural” swimming pools. We got to park in the car park opposite the site for free. Jorge said it was safe at night, but he also offered us to stay in his garden in town or he would let someone come for 150p to guard the place while we were there. They brought us bread and fruit in the morning! (When navigating to this place, use maps.me because google doesn’t recognize the road leading here.)

This is an ‘interesting’ place. Many locals up here Sunday around 5 when we arrived using the nice new picnic tables. Police came by and said it was fine to camp where we were in the valley at the end on the road. Someone came by when we were in bed to poop near our camp area. There are no toilets near the picnic tables but rather they are on the roadway on the way in and they are extremely disgusting.

In the AM we went to check out the abandoned area (towards to radio towers) and there was an armed guard walking with a machete and an aggressive dog. Our dog was back in the jeep by the time we saw them and the dog started jumping on the Jeep in attack mode at our dog. Beware if you have a four legged love one with you.

Views were pretty and the 7°C overnight was great.

Stayed one calm night there; when we arrived around 8pm we also asked the security guard if’s o.k to stay and he said “no problemo”; we were just by our self at the parking lot; it’s getting busy around 6:30am at the nearby Horse riding area “;
we felt safe and for such a busy city we had a really silent night!

80p per person including child, includes admission to the very nice Balneario. The water slides are closed now. Nice grassy area but there is some trash. Good to camp during the week, reasonably private in the camping area but I would imagine much less so on weekends. Reasonably secure with a guard on site all night. On site restaurant is a bit expensive. Very convenient to the town.

Did the trick for us. We pulled all the way in and parked near a cave to get as far from 133 road noise as possible. Our dog Ralph loved this place. Very green with running water in March, probably dry desert most other times of year. The trail is also quite nice and good for hikers of all levels. Recommended

Checked out the place below which looked good but for me the river is just too loud. Maybe it’s the time of year with lots of rain. Drove a little bit back up and camped at this small level pull out. Very quiet, the river a hiss down below. No traffic at night.

From Gulf beach highway 82 turn on Jim Erbelding Rd to Mae's beach. Stay on sandy parking lot if you don't drive a 4x4. Nice beach in front of petroleum structures. Quiet and dark. Free camping. No service.
Camping gratuit. Aucun service.

Located in Magu on the main road, this hotel is very new, clean and confortable (AC in the rooms, hot shower). Bathrooms are spacious. The double room is 20 000 TSH. Breakfast included but very basic (bread, egg boiled, coffee). You can put bicycles in the yard (or at the reception) but there is no place to park cars inside. There is a bar and a basic restaurant adjoined to the hotel.
This may be a good stop for cyclists between Mwanza and Serengeti.

Well organized campground with new, well maintained amenities and a well equipped kitchen. The unpowered sites are on a lawn at the back of the campground, away from the main road and are quiet. There are a few shady trees. Washing machines and dryers, a sanitation dump station and facilities for dish washing. AUD 32 (2 adults, campervan, unpowered). We didn't try the wifi. Good Telstra reception.

Nice spacious sites with private ablutions. Really good hot shower! Lots of trees for shade. Clean bathtub pool. Restaurant with view over the lagoon. Took us 45 minutes on the very sandy track. Owners are friendly. Their three dogs and owl come by your campsite. 143 pula pp, not bad for this region!

We wanted to stay there one night, but it was nightmare. The place is beautiful, but during the night there were 4 police cars, one of them at 3am, they said to us it’s ok to stay overnight, they wanted to see passports and left, at 5am another police car came and they said, you must leave... se we left. No sure if you can stay or not...
