You cannot camp anymore at this place, but at the beginning of the village which is a good option.
X-batum cenote is at 2km from the village accessible with a dirt road but manageable for big RV (even higher than 3,50). You can park at the front of Cenote with no issue and come back to the village for overnight camping.

I went with Grimaldi lines, got off at Ashdod (me + motorcycle).
The process went as follows (there is a problem which I'll explain later)
- Immigration and security gets on board (in our case in the evening and I was able to spend an extra night on the ship) to take your passport for the immigration
- Go to 'Allaloef' (Grimaldi's shipping partner) to pay for a document - Can't remember the exact name (Grimaldi doesn't tell you about this, but you'll have to pay 150 USD). This is not in the port and requires you to go through security. Taxi is around 40 USD round trip they told me, but perhaps you can get a better deal or have someone from the port help you
- Go to customs, get your paperwork drawn up. You won't need a carnet here, you will need your vehicle papers and your passport
- From customs you'll need to go to another office (near immigration) and pay for release of the motorcycle
- Within that same office there is another room where you go with your stamped / paid paperwork, the person there should be able to get the motorcycle
- Security comes to pick you up, does a security check on the bike / luggage and then they help you through the gates

In my case, there was a slight problem (which turned out to work in my advantage). As I didn't ride the motorcycle of the ferry, it was technically not inside Israel. As such, the woman at customs couldn't print her paperwork as this was one of the requirements. After much hassling / calling, they fixed the paperwork (but the bike was still on the vessel). Normally, you will hand the bike over to customs instead of it staying on the ship. For me this was a good thing because when I left it was like 8 o'clock and the customs lockup was closed.
This confused everyone greatly. Especially for the lady who was in charge of getting the bike from storage. I said I needed to fetch some stuff and came back with the bike (to her amazement).

Some things to note.
- The ladies at immigration were extremely helpful (I naively stumbled into there thinking that's where I needed to be). There was a woman named 'Rachel' (American, in hebrew / phonetically it was like caileigh but with a G. So Gggaileigh). She was extremely helpful and spend basically her whole day missioning to Allaloef and customs and helped with the paperwork.
- The immigration office is open until late if not 24hrs
- The office where you get the paperwork you need to pay (like the invoice) is open until 17:00
- The office where you need to go to release the motorcycle and get security is open until 18:00
- The Security people are available 24hrs a day

It was a gruesome 9 hour day, but I was able to get the bike into the country the same day

Best pupusas I have ever had ($1 each ) , parking in restaurant $10 plus $3 for electricity , paid a tip because my rig is 28ft long , tight fit down the street if you are over 30ft you won’t fit in the side entrances .... best place in El Salvador ( ps very clean no trash ) a cool surfing style community ... too bad was just passing through ... well worth checking out

Quoted same prices as listed below. However...take note: this does NOT protect your vehicle! It is only to protect yourself against third parties...i.e. it will only pay for damage or injury you caused to third party!!! Up to 130,000Q. We were told it is good through Costa Rica, but he said they may not accept it at Costa Rica border...even though the insurance company will cover it.

Was told in Nicaragua that it wasn’t good...but this was from an insurance company at the entrance ...not the aduana. It definitely was not accepted in Costa Rica.

I was worn out by the road from Yendi which is mostly dust and desperately asked if I could park and stay. Their parking is small and mostly height limited but they kindly let me park up and I bought drinks and a meal.

Very friendly staff and a nice hot shower. The beds are pretty comfortable and the location is great to get to the mountain. the price is now 250 pesos for a night and 90 pesos for a delicious breakfast. If you wanted to climb the mountain I think they do tours here but I did not personally do one. Instead I rode my motorcycle up to the base camp.

Lovely hostel approx 3k from the Pan Am turn off. Has dorms, camping and self contained rooms. Camping $8 a night/dorms $14 both include breakfast. Good wash facilities but showers are cold. Lovely lounge and veranda with hammocks and mountain views. Access road is cobbled and a bit rough in places. Took 10-15 mins to ride with fully loaded KTM 950. Good simple food available with veggie options. Mains $7. Good selection of beer and wine. Ignore google location as this is wrong. Maps me is accurate. Front gate has double door (approx 15 feet wide) and no beam. Parking spaces for 3 cars or so.

Restaurant and Fuel Station. Meeting point for bikers. Walking distance from the picnic area just north.

I was solo with moto and tent. Pitched on the level above the road and walked to the Restaurant for breakfast and internet.

Came back here a few days later and pitched in the same place.

The restaurant isn't open at night but you can get snacks at the fuels station next door.

Came back here after an excursion to Bento Goncalves.

We slept there several nights as Valparaiso and the area around have only few good spots. We had no problems there, you can park at the back at the 3 parking lots like at every Copec/Pronto. There’s only one shower for women but they allowed me to use a cabin from the men showers. Clean, hot water and enough water pressure. Worth the 800$. Only bad thing: it’s really noisy as the trucks pass very close to the parking lots at the back when they leave. And the the pavement is rough so they make even more noise...
We talked with a german stuff member and she told us that it’s completely accepted to sleep at the back of the house and that she too thinks it’s one of the best options in this area, although not being perfect.

Clean and spacious hotel with hostel on the ground floor.

Hot showers and clean toilets. Free fruit and grapes in the fridge. Free tea and infusions in the lobby.

Fast internet and breakfast included.

I have a moto and tent but had a hard time finding a camping spot. Rain was forecast so I found this on booking.com

Maria, the owner speaks English.

Secure parking for cars and motorcycles in the basement and you are given a remote control for entry. Not enough headroom for vans. Althoug there is external secure parking and a wide street outside with a park across the road. Plenty of room.

Nice quiet neighbourhood.

The hostel beds are partitioned by plastic screens so it's like you have your own room.

50R$ per person.
