Good for one night at least. We found the plug outlet 30 & 50 amp but not sure we can use it. The cable would run on the walkway...

10‘000pp/pn to use the pools 1day. They have a package 25‘000pp for 1night in the campground and 2days using the pools. We decided to just stay 1day in the pools and slept for free in the parkinglot without amenities. We were quite dissapointed: all the pools are built (no natural pools) and 1 of them was empty, one was cold, one was warm and the other hot. Clean toilets and cold showers and the pools were full with leaves and dead bees/wasps. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Nice and very quiet place, but unfortunately a lot of waste. Don’t need the observatory - you can see all stars from here.

Stayed here one night when we arrived in San Fran. Great for first night as you wake up to a beautiful view of the city (and get an even more amazing view at night). It is definitely not the best spot for long term, very busy though we didn't find it too loud during the night.

Bathrooms were very dirty but better than pooping in a bag. Didn't feel the most safe though there are several other campers parked there I would assume basically every night. We were wedged between an RV and a camper, both fellow Canadians :)

Nice place to relax. We spent 5 days there. Busy on Sunday but we had the camping for our own from Sunday night till Friday morning. It's wide open with direct access to the beach. Payed 300 pesos per night with water and electricity. Didn't use the toilets or shower..... Not clean enough...wifi not working perfectly but enough to use it from time to time

Stayed here for 4 nights. FREE. There is a Pemex across the street with bathrooms for 3 pesos. Walk to historic center is 20 minutes, or you can jump on the public bus for 7 pesos. The plaza is well lit and there were lots of other vans, mostly tour vans, parked there during the day and night. Quiet after 11:00pm. We paid 80 pesos to have our laundry washed, dried, and folded. Also, you can grab a beer and wifi at Alitas Sports Bar. Would definitely recommend.

Great place (specially if you have kids) 50$ pp (kids don't pay) where you can see lots of wildlife, cold shower, clean toilets with TP provided. You can check out the Guacamayas at the resort next door and there is another place as well more in the center of the town. The road to there was OK but it took us almost 1h from the federal road because you cannot speed up due to huge potholes. On the plus side, it's paved the whole way via Chajul... Bring beers if you want any because only the restaurant of the fancy resort seemed to sell them and it was expensive.

We spend 3 nights at this camping. We also tried the other one near the river but there was to much wind. The place is safe and you meet a lot of other hikers. Just in front of the ranger station there is a water tap to fill up. Good place, good vibes.

Its a big area. We came here and stay more away from the main road and police station for the afternoon. For the night we park the car behind the police station. Nice gentleman working for municipality came to us and invited us for a festival, which was in walking distance at the cerro gloria (in teatre). Very nic folklor show. The guy also told the police that we are gonna stay for the night and they were ok.

Easy one stop border. We went from Tanzania to Kenya, no hassle as we had everything we needed (yellow card insurance and carnet). Before you enter you have to show your vaccination booklet. After that you will find the visa registration on the rivht side and all car related issues on the left. We paid $50,- for a Kenyian visa and no extra costs for the car (road tax).

To us this border crossing was not completely hassle free. Namibia in, they asked for our carnet and did not know what to do with it. they sent us to another customs official who also did not know what to do. We explained that the carnet does not apply here since Namibia is part of the customs Union. In the end we left customs without using the carnet which is correct. Then at the final check with the police they demanded us to proof that our car was road worthy because we did not have the round sticker like the South Africans have. We could not show him any document to his liking and threatend to fine us. All of a sudden when it became clear to him that we were not willing to pay a fine or any other amount we were fine to go. hmmm. The border crossing took us at least one hour while we were the only ones crossing at that time.

Very helpful map pin, which we used to get to Cerro Negro in probably the most straightforward way (although still a little challenging at times along the narrow and sandy roads). We were driving a 2WD Ford E150 van. Locals were indeed helpful when we came to forks in the road and were unsure which direction to take.

This restaurant is located on the block behind the mark. The food is excellent, the WiFi is fast and the attention impeccable.
If you feel like treating yourself for a night they have very nice rooms with private bathrooms, and a spa with hot tub and sauna. Highly recommend it! They are open Mon-Sat till 10pm, Sun till 4pm. Live music at lunch time.

We found Miguel through Google as he was the only mecanico listed as being available 24/7 and we needed a repair on a Sunday (when all else is closed). In addition he offers 'domicilio' service and even has a tow truck. He arrived in 25 min. as he said, and although he couldn’t fix the problem on location (starting motor) he diagnosed it quickly and set us up with an appointment at a different mechanic the next day in the morning. Because he couldn’t do more he only calculated 15.000 instead of 25.000 (which is the price for domicilio, diagnoses and repair).

Miguel is fluent in English, super friendly, professional and honest! Even the owner of the hotel we stayed in (who also had some problems with his car fixed) said it’s rare to find a mechanic like this. Highly recommended!
