Great place for the night! After the sun went down, the road traffic noise was almost non existent. We were the only van here - quiet, only the sound of the river and the frogs.

To find this place take the road to the "Los Lilas" place and continue at the end of the road. The spot is at the reaally end. More quiet then the upper spot. The river is 400m from here (not much water because of hydroelectrics). Accessible for 2wd, seems like somebody tried to block the acces (near the warning sign at the main road), but locals made some new "desvios".
Average level of trash for Chile. Good Entel signal. Partially wind protected. Possible to pitch a tent.
Nice view of sunset. We spend 4 nights here.

Free site. Grass was a bit overgrown, but the restrooms were clean. Winter host was nice. I had the place to my self. One car parked at the gate and blared the radio for a while before leaving. I'd stay here again.

Beautiful dispersed forest road. 2wd ok just watch for mud if rain comes. Three bars Verizon. Please pick up your trash and bring it with you and your poop if you don’t know how to bury it. This lifestyle is going to be taken away if the public land keeps getting trashed. I noticed 4 abandoned trash filled sites and cleaned out two!

Great Mecanic who did some overnight welding for us, also fixed a leakage at the diesel pump. Not the guy who talks a lot, but pragmatic, friendly and super fast. Local police and ambulances repair their cars here. Price was reasonable. We found him with google and was a real good choice.

This place just waits for tourists to rip them off and should be avoided for the plethora of other fantastic fare this town has to offer. All plates are 80 Q for food that is average at best. And the waiters will try to add extra charges for no reason and then tell you that the bill does not include tip.

This spot was $10 a night. The people at the store do not tell you that the road is quite steep and also full of pot holes, you definitely need high clearance to be able to drive here. You don’t need 4wd, but it is really bumpy so you should be aware. The toilets are a far walk from the spots. The spots are great, they have grills, picnic tables, and fire pits. Some are big enough to fit multiple people and the views are gorgeous! You can also hike part of the Arizona trail from here and we saw a lot of walk in hikers!

This part is BLM area just a 1/2 mile off the main road of Hole in the Rock. Nestled amount the junipers and pinion pines, that is very quiet. It's a pack it in and pack it out area. Nearest vaulted toilet is at the "Dance Hall"

Just off the Hole in the Roc road you can find a side road that wanders among the junipers and pinion pipes. We found a nice spot for our group of 4 truck campers. The soil is soft once off the well traveled road in but well worth it for the night is dead quiet. This area is managed by the Bureau of Lands Management up to the Glen Canyon Rec. Area.

One of a few hikes up to the crater rim. We camped at La Casa de Juan and it took us 1.5h to reach the top. Once you have entered the parque (3$ for non-residents), the trail passes the Piedra Pintada and some nice natural ponds. On top, one has a good view down at El Valle and the crater the village sits in.
Because we don't like going back the same way, we continued towards the Cross and then followed a steep trail down to the village (1h). See maps.me for the details.

We (2) stayed a few nights with our motorhome (7m, just fits through the main entrance) and were charged 20$/night. Nice big garden with plenty of shade, although the temperature in El Vella is pleasant all year round. For campers, cold showers only. Because of the Corona curfew, no music during the night :o)

Small rest area attached to the LBJ national historic park. No pull in spots, all parallel spots but it was not very crowded and we had no issues pulling out 28 ft skoolie in and parking for the night. The restrooms weren't the cleanest but were usable and not disgusting. The park is very pretty and had lots of nice grass. The road noise was also not that loud.

Nice place, very peaceful. Great view on the ocean and no one around. A bit sandy but okay with our 2WD van. Nice sunset on the ocean, some wind and no protection for tent/rooftent.

We were not amazed by this park... Maybe the long trek is worth it, but the short ones aren't spectacular.

I would NOT bring a van or RV to this site. This is tent camping only. If your van has 4x4..maybe.
There is a 6 mile gravel road to this spot, and the last mile is one lane and difficult. Since we drove up in our van later in the day, we didn't really have an option to go back down before gates closed. We did find a nice compact area to park for the night. It was indeed quiet. The deuce back down in our promaster, well that's another story.
Seriously, unless you're absolutely adventurous, keep this a tent camping site. ABSOLUTELY NO CLASS Cs or As or trailers.

Carnegie SVRA has a campground with 20 designated spaces available on a first-come basis, along with picnic tables, potable water, flush toilets, showers (coin operated), and shade ramadas.

I didn't actually stop here, but given the scarcity of campgrounds in this region I thought this should be added here.

Happy camping!

Great little spot. I was told it can get busy on warm weekends, but otherwise it's pretty mellow. There's a machine to pay when you first arrive. Be aware that it charges $20 per "day" but it actually seems to give you closer to 36 hours. For example, I arrived at 5pm on Tuesday and my permit was good until 7am on Thursday.

There are three parking areas and camping is only allowed in the middle lot. The first area is for day use/kite surfers, and last area is the boat launch parking lot.

Nice camp hosts. Pit toilets are clean, and there are several picnic tables in the camping area. It's a short walk to the beach. The nearby windmills can get kind of loud when it's windy.
