This place is a nice & clean campground. The bathroom is very clean which I love. We stayed for 2 nights. Staff are very friendly. I would come back again.

Large clearing at end of road. Easy to drive here. Lots of wood around. We had good Verizon cell with a signal booster.

nice grassy place with water hose, shower and toilets by the river. but be aware that, as it is a canyon, it can be crazy windy like in Patagonia.
the river isn't for swimming but for fishing (some people even come with fish nest!) but you have to pay an extra 50 pesos for fishing.
toilets on weekends are just awfully dirty, because much more Mexicans.
the river isn't noisy, peaceful nights.
80 pesos per adult (entrance + night)
kids don't pay

Empty lot in front of the beach, it has some coconut trees for shade, it is level so you can park and sleep comfortably, you hear the noise of the beach, feels like there is no one else in miles. The lagoon is on the other side of the lot. If you have breezze there is no sand flies.

We turned down the dirt road right before this parking lot. Great little campsite on the water. WMA free.

Visited Upper Ranch on a busy spring break weekend; it's quieter than Lower Ranch. Sycamore is situated just inside past the Vineyard School entrance. A gate code is required most days, so be sure to request it when checking in at Lower Ranch ranger station. The camp has large firepits, picnic tables, trash cans, water, two flush toilets, and two hot showers. There are a couple covered spots available. You're in a small oak grove in the center of vehicle tracks. It's great to watch the big machines pick their way up the black diamond trails during the day. Even on the busiest of 'party days' the camp goes silent at 7pm. Great spot, great price!

Stayed 3 nights, such a pleasant riverside spot near Shenandoah NP! It does take 45 min or so to get into the park, but all the great overlander spots are a pain to get to...that’s the price you pay for free and secluded camping.

Cross the river on Mechanic St between 211 and downtown Luray, veer right on 675, and after the road is gravelly for a while, go right on Riverwater rd. We parked our van at the far side of the turnaround/lot and it was very level and close to the woods and riverbank. There were lots of other fire rings on the way in, definitely conducive to tent camping because of the flat grass and guardrail separating spots from the road. We could hear some noise from the highway and train tracks across the river, and a few far-off gun shots in the evenings, but otherwise we weren’t bothered at night. Some folks came to walk/boat/swim during the day, and everyone was friendly and respectful of space. We’re guessing the boat launch gets busier on weekends, so keep that in mind. Great sunsets, stars, hammock spots, wading water, birdsong, etc.

Nice place to spend a quiet night. Stay in the upper tier behind the restrooms- it’s really quiet up there.

Decent dirt pull off that wasn’t very flat but manageable. Trail down to the fall was nice but a bit steep. Rained the whole time I was here but definitely a pretty waterfall to check out.

Not the most scenic spot but it’s quiet, free and just outside the national park. We got there after the shops closed so we just found a spot and no one bothered us. You must be self contained and no generator use outside of certain hours. The hours change depending on time of year so check with the store.

Lots of campsites surrounded by hills and trails. Lake is over a few ridges. Picnic tables/grills and amenities to the side, though showers closed due to covid. 2 bathrooms and many trash dumpsters.

Vida Nueva is an all-women cooperative. It‘s a lovely local community to advance women‘s rights. If you want to buy some beautiful, really local „artesania“, this is the right place for you.

At this place they sell all the women‘s beautifully designed rugs, bags, pillow covers etc. They have traditional and modern designs and only use natural dyes. The woman who made the rug gets 100 % of the price you pay.

While we were there, they showed us some rugs and then we could take our time and watch through all the different styles. So it was a really nice, stress-free shopping experience. They answered all our questions about their work and project.

The house is a bit hidden, but there is a gate with a „Vida Nueva“ sign on it. Just knock on the gate and they will welcome you.

we spend one night very quiet, and in the late afternoon nobody is there so you can visit the place alone. Late that night came the people who take care and work doing some maintenance on the place. They have a little house. Wen they arrive they play some music (instrument like flute) and around 23 ...+or- was quiet.

Great place to camp in Leon. 57 Pesos per Person for one night (no car), and no extra entrance fee. It's safe, quiet, toilets are nearby and most of the time very clean. No showers though.
The park is really nice and everybody was friendly.
We recommend staying there!

Great spot, very secluded. room enough for at least 3 cars. rough rocky road on the way in, some patches of snow, 4wd definitely recommended. there are at least four other big pull offs on the nf road good for camping and closer to the main road. last little hump to get to the clearing off the road is pretty rutted/muddy, low clearance vehicles might have a tough time. Solid spot though! not a soul all night.

There are several clearings to camp on in this BLM land just west of Independence. Great cell service for all carriers in the BLM area, but as you get closer to the mountain you lose reception.

Great views of the mountains, very quiet and peaceful.

No amenities.

Free. This country park is right on the river with a couple dozen picnic spots that are great for camping. No toilets or trash containers. Great for canoeing or kayaking and quiet on the weekend that we stayed. Being Texas, the fishermen do leave their trash, so do like we did and clean up your space to make it a good campsite. Overall, one of our best camp sites in TX.

Acceptable campground if you want to spend time in town or if you canoe or kayak the paddling trail here. Full hookups for only $12. Looks like a few sites are taken by people who live here, and no reservations accepted. Best to arrive early as there are only 18 sites total.

The library is currently closed to long term visits inside the library because of COVID. But you can get the wifi from your vehicle if you park in their lot or on the street next to it. I looked on their website and they encourage people to site in their cars or outside to get the wifi.

Did not camp here but rode my motorcycle out for the day from Viñales. Fantastic beach that would be incredible for tent camping. a little bit of trash from day users but not bad. Way off the bear's path.

Nice place as described. Friendly chap, definitely a people person. Beers 40 per can. Minimum 200 per person donation for the medicine when you visit the himba. Interesting to see how he helps them. If the level is low in the well, the river water is in the system for the shower and taps etc.

The map shows this road as a 4x4 alternative to the nearby highway, but it is washed out here and impassable.

If you have a small motorcycle and ambition, you could get across. A nearby neighbor, Orelio might come out to offer you coffee and help you.

Stayed here 1 night in our van while driving east. Like others have mentioned, the rest stop has a Panera, DQ, and 7/11. Very large truck parking lot but since we have a short van we parked in the regular parking lot. Slept well and felt safe. Note that some rest stops on the Ohio turnpike so have specific RV parking but this one does not. However another RV/travel trailer was in the car lot with me overnight and just took up a few spaces and it seemed fine.

Great little spot. Enough room for 3-4 unless you have 4x4 then you can go farther down the beach to more camp spots.

Wonderful campground directly in the beach with a lot of shaded places under large canopy to place a tent. Junior cares a lot about the place and keeps everything clean, helps with local experience and is just super nice. Will definitely come back to this place!

Nice place to stay in Tamasopo. Rates are 100 pesos per person for camping, but I contacted the owner in advance over whatsapp and arranged 80 pesos. Wifi is good but cell service is not super strong. It's fine for every use but for video calls if you work online, it's a no go. Pet friendly. I brought my five dogs and two cats with no issues, although the fence is a bit elevated so they liked to sneak underneath and go running in the nearby sugar cane fields. Spin class is still happening around 7:30am inside most mornings. Although shower temps are cold, it feels nice in this heat. Temps were between 80-105F this week. Guy at the front desk was hitting on me a lot since I'm a solo female traveler but stopped when I told him I have a boyfriend and asked him to be respectful. Right behind this property there's a lot with no hookups for 50 pesos per night camping. Not much shade but pet friendly and night security of Nacho who lives on site there. Behind the pools on this property there's a small gate with access to a grassy field. If you go there you can easily access El trampolin swimming area. It costs 30 pesos per person to Nacho to swim there and you can rent a Kayak (not sure of price) or rent a life jacket for 30 pesos. They also sell artesania. There are some food and drink vendors around El trampolin if you swim to the other side and there are reasonable prices. El trampolin is dog friendly. Cascadas de Tamasopo is down the street from this camping area. They have a big field tent camping area that filled up Thursday to Sunday each night with new people camping for one night. They let me park in the shade under some trees between two cabins in sight of reception.

A decent spot. I stayed one night and didn't have any issues. The neighborhood road next to the parking lot had some traffic but wasn't terribly loud. Some cops set up a speed trap in dxsthe other half of the lot for a few hours during the night, but didn't bother me.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers and a dump station. There’s also a visitor center/museum at the park. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. The campground roads and camping pads are paved.
