One of my favourite Van. Island rec sites.
On Campbell lake facing the SE. 3 sites with tables an pits. 1 toilet.
1 spot is beside the boat launch but lots of sun.
Another has a corner lot an if you hold your phone just right (telus) there is signal.
Easy in for all vehicles. An can be turned around but only the corner lot has much room.
like most sites I wouldn't recommend large RVs but it can be done.
This is a BC Rec site.. I will leave a link .

Large flat open area with no shade. Very little wildlife seen or heard, but the wet season is only just over.

Beautiful desert boondocking about 1/4 mile off Rt 90 on Thompson Canyon Rd. Markers say it is BLM land no need to verify, see the photo. An employee drove by and waved hello. 360 degree views of the mountains and desert. Pristine, NO Trash anywhere, the way it should be. Nice hiking along gas line or electric post trail.

A lot of bleached bones, which I love to discover. Death is the clasp on the bracelet of life to form a perfect circle of existence.

We found a horse skeleton! Still wearing horseshoes.

Wide NM sky full of stars at night, yipping coyotes at dusk. Quiet, no highway noise. I love this state. Stars are so bright and the milky way is painting the sky with streaking sparkles. A beautiful, natural planetarium.

k2 Gondogoro La Trek is one of the epic treks in the world. it offers the opportunity to witness four (4) out of the world’s fourteen (14) eight-thousand meter peaks from one location. The first 12 days of our Gondogoro La Trek and our K2 Base Camp Trek itinerary are the same. The extension of K2 Base Camp Trek towards Hushey (also spelled as Hushe) valley from Concordia over Gondogoro Pass/La makes up Gondogoro La Trek a circular trail.

This place was pretty quiet for a truck stop. Store closed at 10pm so the only traffic noise was from the road. I had a fan on for noise and was never disturbed. Easy place to pull off for the night.

There is no denying that the sight of the valley from the fort on a full moon night is breathtaking. As the afterglow of the sunset remains for several minutes in the mountains. Seeing the sunset in Skardu Tour is also an unforgettable moment. So, it is not something you can experience unless you see it firsthand. Similarly, Cold deserts such as Katpana appeal that you won’t find anywhere else. In addition, Katpana village, also known as a cold desert, has many beautiful dunes. Strong winds cause the dunes to shift rapidly. It is a strange attraction due to its high elevation and cold surrounding.

BLM, National Conservation Lands managed campground. 15-20 mins into Lemhi Leak area off of Hwy 28, South of Salmon Idaho.

We were the only ones here the first weekend in April 2022.

Unmaintained gravel road. We were in a Jeep Rubicon with a 16’ off-road teardrop.

We stayed here as our attempt to get to the top of Lemhi Pass failed due to so now.

Still a great site!

3 from which we could see. Pits, table and a nice creek. On-site pit toilet and garbage bins.

Super nice spot right in front of the point — for 8$ you get a shower and a bathroom. They also have small cabinas and hammocks for rent. Fresh breeze and no mosquito! Friendly cat that will come hang with you for sure too

Large flat parking lot in a quiet forested location. There is a portable toilet but no other amenities. The lot may be busy during the day with mountain bikers, but is very quiet at night.

Look for the Woodlot C10 sign at 1120 Charlotteville Road 2.

The guard offered for us to camp just outside the gate without us even asking, seems like it’s very accepted here! Restrooms and other facilities available, nice spot above the city.

Free entry to the miradores with the national park bracelet (included with all Sumidero Canyon boat tours), but even at 54p, it’s absolutely worth coming up here!

Male Showers > Floor was a little scummy dirt and sand. However shower was warm. It was $1.25 for 7.5 minutes. There is a curtain. The water was warm and I wasn’t bothered. You do have to pay for parking though, you download the app (ParkMobile) and it’s 1.80 for 120m. So all told it was 3.05 for a shower!!! Trust me, I was a happy camper. Make sure you bring flip flops for the nasty floor. Mind you, I got there at about 1pm on Sunday afternoon, so if you get there first thing…it may be cleaner. Oh and one more thing > the showers are located at the end of the parking lot closer to the pier but not on the pier. They’re in a brown restroom building.

Easy to find, open the gate and drive through. All gps apps say this is BLM. Amazing mountains, desert beauty. A great place to hike or mountain bike but, be careful, a lot of tire puncture rocks and plants. There are a few old mines to look into and a local cow was curious as we looked into a desert water trough source with gold fish!I think the mines were turquoise mines since there seem to be a lot of turquoise rocks around. I do not think is sacred land so it is probably fine to rockhound a few.

No one else here. Quiet and peaceful.

Checked it out but at 25.000 clp a night in off season for one person and a car... no thank you. I went down the road to Ripipal and paid 10.000. Campground looks nice though right on the beach from a distance it looked clean.
